Customized instruction
A
flexible and innovative method of learning that provides reading instruction
for students of all academic levels (including special education, home
schooled, ESL students and adults) based on the theory that all children can
learn
to
appreciate and understand the value of the printed word and experience positive
feelings about reading. It
introduces reading strategies that can be applied to various reading texts and
addresses reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing skills. Printed
materials are used in four reading text areas narrative, informational,
persuasive, and workplace texts and the “3Z Technique” for reading/writing instruction
is used. Students can expect to enhance their reading/writing, critical
thinking, reading comprehension, organization and study skills as well as their
appreciation for reading.
Foreign Film/Documentary

Foreign Film Reading Workshop is designed to promote reading fluency and a
better command of the English language. Students read subtitled dialogue,
practice comprehension skills and
enhance reading pace.

Educator is also designed for college students who need assistance in reading
strategies and/or study skills for college reading assignments. College texts
and other relevant instructional materials are used.
Reading
through the Aesthetics
Students become actively involved with their physical
surroundings and the visual arts. Through interactive activities with the arts
and architecture a greater emergence of appreciation and understanding of
reading and writing emerges. Life experiences and worldly knowledge merge and
students experience the wonders of reading.
