College High/College Partnership is a learning community built on substantive and sustainable alternatives for change directly related to academic achievement. It establishes a partnership between secondary schools and local colleges and universities to promote academic achievement. It is a project that anticipates the development of alternative learning situations for basic skills students who fall into the achievement gap. The partnership proposes the reframing of existing social networks and the physical repositioning of learning environments for underachieving students.

The
purpose of College High is to situate students in a place known for the
encouragement of higher-level knowledge and thinking skills. This environment
will open new possibilities for students. In this setting students will be
taught by high school teachers and college faculty. They will be linked with
college student tutors and mentors and gradually develop advanced social
networks. College High will create a haven for the realization of hidden
talents and in doing so will formulate a safe space to expose, discover, as
well as nurture healthy self-images. It will provide a place for dreams to be realized
and imaginations to grow.
