Customized instruction

A 911 educator customizes instruction is a flexible and culturally response teaching methods. Addressing individual needs provide literacy instruction for students of all academic levels - special education, home schooled, ESL students, adults, and non-labeled students as well. Learning about an individual creates an opening for students to appreciate and understand the value of the printed word and experience positive feelings about reading. exposure to a variety of printed materials covering a range of reading texts, narrative, informational, persuasive, and workplace enables a well-rounded literacy base. Students can expect to enhance their reading/writing, critical thinking, reading comprehension, organization and study skills as well as their appreciation for reading when they are able to find a connection to text.

 

                 

 Foreign Film/Documentary

911 Foreign Film Reading promotes reading fluency and a better command of the English language. Students read subtitled dialogue, practice comprehension skills and enhance reading pace.

 

Reading through the Aesthetics

The 911 Educator involves students in their physical surroundings (ex. architecture) and the arts (ex. paintings, photography, acting, dance, music and more). A greater appreciation and understanding of reading and writing emerges through interactive activities with the arts and architecture. Life experiences and worldly knowledge merge leaving students to marvel at the wonders of reading.
