911 Transdisciplinary Instruction

Transdiciplinary Literacy Curriculum, TLC, is a newly developed program that is one of the most effective alternative methods for contemporary educators dealing with twenty-first century youth. TLC incorporates everyday life into class lessons, which occur in a sequence of three steps, Phase #1- The Lesson Palate - preparation/assessment phase, which helps to acquaint the teacher with the specific needs of the students and then moves into Phase #2- The Verbal Connector Prompt - connector-engagement phase, which encourages natural verbal participation of each student and then lastly moves into Phase #3- The “Triple Z Technique” 3ZT – lift/platform phase. The 3ZT is the most detailed phase, which lifts the spirit and academic level of each student and provides a platform for continued growth. Each phase provides a scaffold to the next phase and provides scaffolds within the phase.

This approach is designed to interest and advance children of all ages and levels, as well as combat America’s growing problem and legacy of underachievement. Students who would otherwise be lost in the system, yet do have the raw materials needed to master reading and writing varied text, are instead able to reach maximum potential in literacy with TLC.
