The overall intention of the 911educaor website is to stimulate voice from diverse sources and alert the international public that immediate ACTION is imperative in order for young people to achieve their full potential. The ultimate challenge presents itself as a huge human jigsaw puzzle in disarray with pieces spread worldwide waiting to be put together. The end goal is to address silences in academia that should be voiced. In order to achieve this lofty goal educators must begin to reject partnerships with silences that condone dominant culture privileges, minority underachievement, top-down school management, education inequities, racial disparities in school systems, world atrocities against people, human pain and degradation, and hibernating minds that exist in institutions of learning. 911 Educators explore innovative ways to expose such forced silences as well as spaces to find effective voice. This site proposes change in process with harmonious thoughts in mind!
The 911 educator mission is to engage and ultimately merge global input concerning varied aspects of literacy development. 911 literacy references include multiple aspects of learning, such as, reading, writing, speaking, viewing, technology, listening skills and the vast world of the arts. This is an all-encompassing approach to literacy development, promotong Spherical Achievement Networks, which involves a 3-D perspective revolving around self, school and societal positive life expereinces as avenues configured for student literacy development.
